I'm Liz Moomey. I am currently a content producer at North State Journal, North Carolina's first statewide newspaper. I write a variety of stories, including politics, business and general news. I also design the pages and copy edit.
I previously was a sports clerk and writer for The News & Observer. I compiled statistics, wrote game summaries, covered high school sports games and answered sports queries. I was also a freelance associate producer at TWC News where I created content for the web and posted the stories to social media.
I graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in communication media and a minor in journalism. I was editor-in-chief of Agromeck, the University's year in review. I wrote sports features and profiles for GoPack, N.C. State's athletics site. I have also written for Technician, N.C. State's student newspaper, and GVH Live, an up-and-coming news organization in Washington, D.C.
I incorporate my motto "We all have a story to tell" when I work, whether it is through writing or design. This motto inspires me to understand the person, organization or event from different perspectives. Writing drives me, and I enjoy seeking what drives others.
My time working with various forms of media has taught me to be a hard, efficient worker while learning a variety of skills.
I currently reside in Raleigh, N.C. I enjoy making waffles, watching The Mindy Project and traveling to new places.
I am looking for a career in journalism.
